Communities Of Interest

Southwark Alliance supports several forums which bring together residents from particular communitiesof interest, work together to influence the way services are delivered and encourage residents to be active citizens.

These forums include:

• Southwark Disabilities Forum: Offers an opportunity for people to come together to discuss local and national issues and the concerns of people with disabilities. Contact Julie Timbrell on 020-7525 0514 or e-mail her at julie.timbrell@southwark.gov.uk for more information.
• LGBT Network: A social and support group for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender(LGBT) people and their families and friends.Contact Dax Ashworth on 020-7525 5659 or e-mail him at southwarklgbt@yahoo.co.uk or for further information visit www.southwark-lgbt.org.

• Southwark Travellers' Action Group: To co-ordinate and provide the voice of Travellers in Southwark. Contact Tricia Bowie-Phillips for further information on 020-7639 1823 or by e-mail at triciabphillips@peckhamsettlement.org.uk
• The Southwark Muslim Forum: Creates a single and influential voice for the very diverse Muslim communities in Southwark. It pays particular attention to Muslim women having a strong voice and to inter-generation relationships. It is also concerned with project delivery, (e.g. Muslim Parent Forums). • The Southwark Anti-Homophobic Forum: Brings residents together with service providers to discuss improvements to the way we all ensure the safety of LGBT residents, has various sub groups, research projects, as well as regular forum meetings; all designed so that residents can contribute to discussions about creating a non homophobic Southwark.
